ONE THOUSAND AT WEST GRINSTEAD PILGRIMAGE

Archbishop Amigo, Bishop of Southwark, presided on Tuesday, July 16, at the 60th annual pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation, West Grinstead, when nearly 1,000 pilgrims assembled, coming from London and all parts of Sussex and the adjacent counties. Solemn High Mass was sung by Canon Christall in the presence of the Archbishop, who urged all to pray for the special intention of "Peace Among Nations."

The usual procession took place in the afternoon in a field opposite the church, where the sermon was preached by Fr. Kevin, 0.S.F.C. Solemn Benediction concluded the proceedings.
