Africa medal for an Irish nun

The Royal African Society in England has awarded its bronze medal to Mother Aquiline, Superior of the Convent of the ,Sisters of Our Lady of the Apostles at Elmina, on the Gold Coast.

Sister Aquiline has been serving on the Gold Coast for 44 years. Born in Ireland, she went to Africa in 1910. She has built a boarding school, a teachers' training college and a maternity and child welfare centre.
