THE OPEN DOOR

Pentecost picture from Amsterdam Once more on Pentecost Sunday—the " Birthday of the Church "—countless Catholics will be listening to the familiar Epistle telling how the Apostles, with their new gift of many tongues, went out into Jerusalem to preach In Parthians and Medes and Elamites, to people from Mesopotamia and Judaea and Cappadocia, Pontius and Asia. Phyrigia and Pamphylia, Egypt and parts of Libya rotund Cyrene....

There were indeed " devout Jews from every country under heaven...."

They came to Jerusalem by many routes ... and here is a picture to show how in the 20th century people still by devious ways come into the Church.

Here is the room behind "The Open Door" in Amsterdam—the door of a shop in the Heilgcnweg which has been open for over 12 years inviting people of all walks of life, many of them on their way to shops and offices, to enter and enquire about the Faith.

In these 12 years 2.500 nonCatholics have enquired. learned and then been received into the Church.
