Ronaldo falls foul of Church law

HE MAY be a “galactico”, a key player for Real Madrid, the most star-studded football team in the world, but Ronaldo can’t dribble his way past the Catholic Church.
The 29-year-old Brazilian forward wanted the Church to annul his first marriage so that he could wed his second wife, the model Daniella Cicarelli, in a Catholic Church, but the Vatican rejected his application. Ronaldo has been divorced from Milene Domingues, a famous woman football player, for less than one year. Ms Cicarelli is still legally married to another man.
The couple faced another setback when French officials denied them a Valentine’s Day wedding in a château in Chantilly, north of Paris, because they had not given the required three months’ notice to announce their union.
