40 KILLED IN CHURCH

More than 40 people were killed last week when the congregation in the Church of St. Teresa in Caracas, Venezuela, stampeded in panic after cries of " Fire."

More than 110 people were injured. The victims included 21

children, 21 women and one elderly man. a

The cry was raised after a candle had fallen on the altar cloth.

The congregation were already restless and a number of people had fainted as a result of the heat.
