Nuns May be Sent to Factories

—According to German Labour Decrees

After repeating the decrees of the Reich ministers of Labour and Religion which are planned to restrict the withdrawal of men and women power from the Labour front, the speaker from Vatican Radio said: " To understand more easily the meaning of these decrees, listeners must know that to-day in the German Reich, the authorities have the power of assigning anyone to any field of work—agricultural or industrial.

"A woman, even though a member of a religious community may unexpectedly receive a note telling her to report for work at such and such a factory, and the thing is done.

" Whatever may be the motives of the authorities, is it not possible that this decree may bring about the gradual extinction of religious congregations and oldest?"
