An interesting festival of sacred music will be held from September 21 to October 4 at Perugia and Assisi, those charming Umbrian hill towns which are so closely linked with the lives of St. Francis and Giotto. There will be concerts of chamber music in the picture gallery of Perugia and performances of "L'Enfance du Christ," conducted by Marinuzzi, at the church of St. Peter.
The principal attraction of the festival will be the concert of sacred music in the church of St. Francis at Assisi, which will be rendered by the choir of the Sistine chapel. The choir, which very rarely sings outside the precincts of the Vatican, will be conducted by Don Lorenzo Perosi. Gregorian Mass will be celebrated in the same church with the assistance of pupils from the Assisi and Perugia seminaries.
