Two Bishops of the Syro-Malabar Rite for new dioceses in India were consecrated in Rome last week in St. Teresa's Church by Cardinal Tisserant, Secretary of the Sacred Congregation of the Oriental Church.
They are Mgr. Matthew Kavukat, Bishop of Changanacherry, and Mgr. Emanuel Vayalil, Bishop of Palai, which formed part of the newly-constituted diocese of Changanacherry.
