t of the Legio oi Mary
Six, -The anonymous letter signed '' A Legionary of Mary " gives an incorrect and most unfortunate impression of the Legion of Mary. It is quite untrue that the Legion as such does not practise the corporal arks of mercy. Why, otherwise, did Fr. Heenan, the Spiritual Ditector of the Legion in England, tell Legionaries that scrubbing floors for an expectant mother is as much God's work as sdruhhing the sanctuary for the priest ?'
Legionaries are always willing to help burdened mothers of families. Among the many types of Legion works is the minding of babies to allow mothers to attend Mass. and the preparation of a sick room before the visit of a priest, when often the actual cleaning has to he done. These two instances merely exemplify the countless " corporal " works undertaken by Legionaries, with which every experienced Legionary is completely familiar.
