Archbishop of Liverpool's Illness

Dr. Downey, Archbishop of Liverpool, has been suddenly taken ill. His condition gives rise to anxiety, and the Vicar-General of thc archdiocese has written to all churches and convents to ask for prayers for the Archbishop's recovery.

On Tuesday night Dr. Downey was examined by two specialists who issued the following bulletin: " The Archbishop has had a severe internal hmorrhage necessitating a blood transfusion. His condition has improved but still gives rise for anxiety."

On Wednesday afternoon the doctors reported a better night but still cause for anxiety.
