The Rev. G. Hughes, assistant priest, St: Patrick's, Rochdale, and the Rev. G. Connor, assistant priest, St. Malachy's, Collyhurst. Manchester, to be Chaplains to the Forces.
Southwark
The Rev. Hugh Donaghey has been appointed chaplain to MM. Forces. The Rev. Edward Sillem to be assistant priest at the Cathedral.
Cistercians Fr. Edwaid Catteralt, 0.C.R., who by special permission of the Abbot of Mount St. Bernard's has been assisting at Our Lady of Good Counsel, Eastwood, Notts, has now returned to his monastery.
Southwark Travelling Mission The centre to be visited this weekend by the Southwark Travelling Mission is Lamberhurst,, parish of Goodburst. Kent. Mass will be said at the Chequers Hotel. Lamberhurst. at 8 o'clock and also at Green Gate, Drenchley. at 9.30. On Sunday, March 26. Mass will be said at the Foresters' Arms, Paddock Wood, at 7.30 and at " Sunnycote," Marden, at 9.15.
St. Patrick's Day in London
The annual religious celebration organised by the Gaelic League of tondon will be held this Sunday, March 19, at Corpus Christi, Maiden Lane, at 3.30 p.m. There will be Rosary and sermon its Gaelic and Benediction.
LONDON SCOUTS' CONFERENCE NEXT WEEK
The annual conference of the Catholic Scout Guild (I ondon area) will be held on Monday and Tuesday, March 20 and 21, at the Convent, Carlisle Place. SAVA, at 7 p.m. Only one subject will be taken each evening in order that those present may have an opportunity for full discussion.

A Religious Brains Trust, organised by the Leicester Christian Council, took place this week at the Domestic Science College. The trust, representative of the Anglican, Free Church and Catholic .communities, dealt with the many questions which occur to people when they are discussing religion. such as " Is religion necessary?", " What is the Church's attitude to war?" and "Is Christianity a failure?"
