Westminster Appointments
The Rev. Leonard Clark, from Brook Green, to Hanwell as Administrator; the Rev. George Ingram, from Hanwell, to East Acton as Assistant; the Rev. Robert Goold, recently ordained, to Brook Green as Assistant.
Birmingham Appointments The Rev. Laurence P. Emery, M.A., profeeeor of moral theology at Oscott College, has been appointed Vicar General of Birmingham, together with Bishop Griffin. He will also be parish priest of SS. Elizabeth & Helen, Coventry, The Rev. Thomas Duffy, of the Sacred Heart, Birmingham, succeeds Fr. Emery on the staff at Oscott.
The new Vicar-General is 45 years of age. He was ordained in 1923. After three years as assistant priest at St. Catherine's, Birmingham, he went, in 1926, to Oscott where he has remained as the professor of moral theology and canon law.
The new Vicar-General has an artistic eye for pictorial photography. This finds reflection in a series of chaste pictures he has made of Oseott College from unfamiliar angles. Some of these appeared not long ago 1,1 THF. CATHOLIC HERALD to illustrate em article on the • college.
Plymouth Appointments
Canon John J. Higgins, a member of the Plymouth Chapter since 1908, has resigned the parish of the Assumption, Torquay. Fr. Myles MacSweeney, parish priest of St. Marychurch, has been appointed a Canon of Plymouth, and succeeds Canon Higgins as Dean of the Torquay Deanery.
Canon George Ford is the new parish priest of the Assumption, Torquay, and will be succeeded at Beaconsfield, Plymouth, by Fr, James Twohig, from the Cathedral. Fr. Arthur T. Parsons is now parish priest of Lynton, North Devon, and Fr. John J. Fanning has left Lynton for Budleigh Salterton, vice Fr. Parsons, Fr. Charles J. Mulreany, assistant priest at the Assumption Church, Torquay, has been recalled to the diocese of Raphoe, aften ten years ins the Plymouth diocese.
