A DISTINGUISHED diocesan communications officer has been selected as a member of the Royal Geographical Society.
Peter Jennings, press secretary to Archbishop Vincent Nichols of Birmingham, was elected a fellow of the society for his philatelic journalism. Mr Jennings said: "1 am absolutely delighted that this distinguished body should have recognised my work in helping to raise the profile of far-off and remote places such as Tristan da Cunha, the British Virgin Islands and Antarctica by writing about their instructive postage stamps."
