CARDINAL Basil Hume will attend the Council of European Bishops' Conferences which meets from September 18-20. The Conference is being staged in Zagreb, Yugoslavia, the first time it has been held outside Rome.

English law

THE NEW Code of Canon Law will soon be available In an English translation. It has been translated by the Canon Law Society of Great Britain and Ireland.

Youth meet

SIX HUNDRED young people are expected to gather this Sunday in Northampton's Catholic Cathedral. The meeting, a follow up to the Pope's visit, will be addressed by Bishop Francis Thomas of Northampton.

Women's talk

THE NATIONAL Council of the Catholic Women's League of England and Wales will meet tomorrow in St George's Hall, Liverpool. Issues of the agenda include "In Vitro Fertilisation" and "Women and Girls as altar servers at all Masses."

THE TWELFTH annual conference of Life, the antiabortion organisation, takes place from today until Sunday at the Royal Spa Centre, Leamington Spa. The conference will discuss medical and biu-ethicial problems.
