A LANCASHIRE housewife, described as a “tireless campaigner” for charity, has been honoured with a papal award.

Mother of five, Anne Marie Coppock‚ of Lower Manor Lane, Burnley received the papal award, Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice, on January 3. It was presented by the recently retired director of Cafod, Julian Filochowski, and given for her outstanding contribution to justice and development for her work with Cafod and also the Salford Diocese Faith and Justice Commission.

Mrs Coppock has worked for the Commission for over 20 years and for Cafod for the past 10 years visiting overseas projects and organising campaign events throughout Britain Germany and Italy.

Husband John said: “We are all very proud of her achievements and delighted her efforts have been recognised in this way.”
