EVACUEES IN MENEVIA Bishop's Appeal

Mgr. D. J. Hannon, Bishop of Menevia. makes the following appeal to readers of the CATHOLIC" HEKALD on behalf of the evacuees resident in his diocese.

" I have already received £10," he writes, " from various sources in England and Wales and kind benefactors. This has been expended mainly in providing transport for children to Sunday Mass.

" Through the kindness of the respective Bishops we have now three and shortly will have five priests on loan, who are specially detailed for the sole and exclusive care of the evacuee children. Besides maintenance they have a good deal of travel by car or train and, of course, the expense incurred will be considerable. May I, therefore, appeal to the Catholic community to help me to ensure the faith of these little ones, the :host innocent of all the sufferers of war. All donations should be scot to me at Bishop's House. Wrexham. We shall export the evacuee children to remember in their prayers their benefactors."
