Epsom Donkey Derby which was held at Epsom Downs on Sunday in aid of two Catholic charities-the St. Bernadette Homes for handicapped children and the South Lambeth Home for the Aged run by the Little Sisters of the Poor. "Bernadette," ridden by Duncan Keith, was hired for the day by Bishop Cowderoy. Other "hirers" of donkeys. who each donated £5. included Sir Gordon Richards. The day was organised by two Knights of St. Columba, and attracted some 25,000 "raccgoers".
