Youth orchestra invited to Poland

THERE will be at least a dozen young Catholics among the hundred or so musicians of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain due to leave London Airport for Poland on September 4.

The Orchestra. led by its founder and musical director Dr, Ruth Railton, and conducted by Rudolf Schwarz. will tour Poland at the invitation of the Polish Government. It will give concerts in Warsaw and Lodz, Dr. Railton assured me that the necessary steps have been taken to provide for the spiritual welfare of each member of the Orchestra.

From Poland the Orchestra will so to Switzerland. to give the two final concerts of the British Fortnight in Zurich. i The concerts in Warsaw will be given on September 5, 6. 7, and that in Lodz (the Orchestra's 100th public concert) on September 8. Those in Zurich will he given in the Tonhalle on September 13 and 14.
