Romero in 1980.
Major D'Aubuisson was in Britain for a conference organised by the Interparliamentary Union, an organisation linking Parliamentarians around the world. He is a founder member of El Salvador's ruling party, the Nationalist Republican Alliance (ARENA), the group linked to thousands of murders including that of Archbishop Romero, an outspoken champion of the poor.
