A letter from the Manchester Jewish community expressing admiration for Pope Paul's peace mission to the United Nations was handed to His Holiness during a private audience on Wednesday. It was delivered by Mr. Leslie Berkeley. of Whitetield, near Manchester, and Mr. David Lee, of Salford.

They left Manchester by air for Rome on Sunday with their wives. The audience had been arranged by Bishop Holland of Salford. Mr, Berkeley said before leaving: "It is out first visit to Rome and we are looking forward very much to meeting the Pope. We are very honoured to have been chosen."

The letter expresses the hope that the Pope's appeal for world peace at the United Nations will he successful, and offers him the prayers of the Manchester Jcwish community for the success of his efforts. 6
