Important relic found

-rs A NEWLY-FOUND relic of St. Cyril, the Apostle of the Slays, who died in Rome in 869 A.D., was presented to Pope Paul yesterday in a cettmorty iii the Sistine Chapel.

The relic, about the size of a finger and the largest of the saint yet found. has been discovered by an Irleh Dominican, Fr. Leonard Boyle, at Recanti, near Rome.

The Saint's relics had previously been missing since the church of San Clemente in Rome, where St. Cyril's body had been preset% ed, Was broken Into by Napoleonic troops in 1798.

On Sunday next, Pope Paul will bring the relic ceremoniously beck to San Clemente and will assist at a solemn oriental rite mass la the presence of ten cardinals and about 120 bishops.

Recent excavations in San Clemente have uncovered the remains of the fourth century basilica and of the first century building underneath, with a well-preserved mithraic temple near by.
