Scholarships for refugees

The Catholic Women's League Relief and Refugee Committee in London has channelled donations to the Pontifical Mission for Palestine, enabling se‘ en refugee boys to study at the Benedictine Trade School in. Tripoli.

Their training will equip them as engineers. electricians and carpenters capable of earning their own living outside the refugee camps.

The Pontifical Mission for Palestine was one of the first voluntary agencies, if not the first, to deal with the problem of hundreds of thousands of people made hungry and homeless by the ArabIsraeli war in 1948.

It has provided food, clothing, medicine, education. employment, physical and spiritual care. for more than a million refugees at a cost estimated to be over £60.000.000.
