SIR,-It is clear from the number of personal letters I have received in reply to my own letters published on this page. that the laity not only need to be instructed but wish to be instructed in the Faith.
If the laity were to receive no such instruction how could they possibly become strong and perfect Christians and soldiers of Jesus Christ? Are they to be provided with arms or are they to be merely non-combatant members of the Church Militant?
Although it would be wrong for me to suggest what should be preached from the pulpit, a series of sermons on two important encyclicals, namely Mystici Corporis and Mediator Del, might be of considerable benefit to the faithful.
