MOMENTUM, £11.99

Also called Public Enemy Number One, this two-part film (released in quick succession in Britain in the autumn) tells the story of French arch criminal-cum-folk hero Jacques Mesrine. Educated at a prestigious Catholic school, Mesrine was expelled for fighting and went on to become France’s most famous bank robber. In prison he wrote his memoirs L'Instinct de Mort (“The Death Instinct”). France’s leading actor, Vincent Cassel, stars in the title role.
