THIS Sunday sees many of the bishops presiding at RCIA Rite of Election services in their cathedrals. Cardinal Basil Hume is joined at Westminster Cathedral by his auxiliaries Bishop John Crowley and Bishop James O'Brien for the rite, which will also be celebrated by Archbishop Derek Worlock of Liverpool, Bishop Patrick Kelly of Salford, Bishop Daniel Mullins of Menevia in their own cathedrals.
Bishop Crispian Hollis of Portsmouth, the media expert of the bishops' conference, starts the week with a broadcast on BBC Radio Solent's "Breakfast with the Bishop" slot at 6.30 am. Later in the week, on Wednesday, he visits Winchester Prison.
Education matters, meanwhile, are on the agenda for Archbishop Michael Bowen of Southwark, and his auxiliary Bishop Howard Tripp, who both attend the meeting of governors of Digby Stuart
