PRELATE WOUNDED

Missionary in Korea
Mgr. Thomas Quinlan, Irish-born Prefect Apostolic of Choonchun. Korea, has been reported wounded by gunfire when the North Korean forces took Choonchun.
Choonchun is ten miles south of the 38th Parallel.
Mgr. Quinlan has been in the Far East since his ordination in 1920. He was in the first mission group that the Columban Fathers sent to China. headed by Bishop Galvin. founder of the Columban missions in China.
He was transferred to Korea in 1934 and appointed the. first Prefect Apostolic of Choonchun in 1939.
After spending most of the war years in internment, he returned to his missionary territory only to lind that he and his fellow-missionaries were refused admittance to a great portion of his prefecture north of the 38th Parallel.
