New provost installed at Clifton Cathedral

BISHOP Declan Lang df Clifton has installed Mgr Richard Twomey as Provost of Clifton Cathedral Chapter.

Provost Twomey succeeds Mgr Patrick Lynch, who served as Provost from 1995 until his death in March this year.

The new provost said: "I feel honoured to be elected provost by my fellow canons. I thank Bishop Declan for the confidence he has shown in me as I take up this new post." Following his installation, it was Provost Twomey's responsibility to instal Fr Alan Finley as a Canon.

Fr Finley is Parish Priest of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary church in the Charlton Kings district of Cheltenham and Dean of Cheltenham. He said: "I am very grateful to Bishop Declan and my fellow canons to have been asked to join the Cathedral Chapter."
