Another Trial of Church Dignitaries in Russia

Moscow is again preparing a trial of Orthodox dignitaries who include the Metropolitan Bishops of Kiev (Gorshakovski), Krasnojarsk (Pogualaieff) and Tashkent (Paramonov); the head of the Armenian Church; and the Archbishops of the Ural (Sementovski) and Tula (IvanovTomarov), besides twenty-nine other bishops. Jegov, the Commissar for the Interior, has issued a statement that the arrested priests will be accused of espionage for foreign powers The death penalty will he demanded.

At the same time Tuschkov, who as a former Chief of the Clicks has been responsible for the deaths of countless Russian priests-including the Patriarch Tuchonhas himself been arrested on a charge of "High Treason to the Communist cause."
