AFTER Pope John Paul H's controversial consecration of the Ivory Coast's Notre Dame desert cathedral, an exact copy of St Peter's, there have been no protests about yet a third St Peter's Basilica just completed in Pisa, north Italy. For this copy was not made of expensive marble and gilt but of chocolate.
A team of master pastry chefs took about six months to make the "basilica and members of the public about an hour to eat it at this summer's 43rd annual pastry festival in the leaning tower town.
