Government and Palestine

Mr. Ormsby-Gore, M.P., the Colonial Secretary, has announced in the House of Commons that Jewish immigration into Palestine for the next six-monthly schedule is to be reduced to 1,800 certificates as compared with 4,500 last year, but stated that a temporary suspension was not considered justifiable.

Meanwhile the Royal Commission have arrived in Jerusalem and are to start their investigations forthwith. Included among the Commission are Professor Coupland, Sir Horace Rumbold and Earl Peel.
