Edgar Andre, formerly a Hamburg Communist Councillor, has been executed. He was found guilty of " moral responsibility " for the death of Nazis prior to 1931, although this was not proved in the evidence at the trial, much of which was
subsequently admitted to be false. The methods used at the trial aroused much indignation abroad, particularly in Great Britain and Scandinavia.
