CONGRESS OF CATHOLIC EDUCATION Apostolic Delegate's Reception

In this year, when the centenary of Adelaide, capital of South Australia, is being celebrated, the Archbishop (Mgr. Andrew Killian) has organised the Con gress of Catholic Education. His object has been to show not only to South Australia but to the whole Commonwealth the debt civilisation in that Continent owes to the Church.

The Congress which is being held at present (from November 9 to November 14), is being attended by the Australian Hierarchy and delegates from the whole Continent, and is being presided over by an Apostolic Delegate, Mgr. John Panic°.

Mgr. Panic() arrived from Sydney on Friday and was greeted in Adelaide by the whole Catholic population, led not only by the Archbishop but by the Civic leaders.

Apostolic-Delegate Meets Governor

A procession of over a hundred cars accompanied the Prelate to the Cathedral amid enthusiastic greetings.

In the afternoon the Apostolic-Delegate was received by the Governor of South Australia, Major-General Sir Winston Dugan, K.C.M.G.. who expressed especial pleasure at the opportunity given him of welcoming the Pope's emissary.

On Sunday. the Apostolic-Delegate celebrated Pontifical High Mass and invested with the Pallium the Archbishop.
