Celebrations in honour of the silver jubilee of St. Matachy's parish C.Y.M.S., Liverpool, took place on Sunday last, co-inciding with the patronal feast of the parish.
Solemn High Mass was celebrated by the parish priest, Fr. H. Dawber, assisted by Fr. E. Griffin and Fr. Morgan O'Healy.
The Chaplain to the Southern area of the C.Y.M.S., Fr. H. Fitzpatrick, preached a special sermon on the advantages of being a member of the C.Y.M.S.
At the evening service, Fr. J. Howard preached on the duties and obligations which the C.Y.M.S. men are now called upon to undertake in combating Communism
