PARISH PRIEST OF MOSSLEY, MANCHESTER Parish priest of St. Joseph's' Church, Mossley, since July, 1940, the death took place on Friday last of the Rev. James Chi istopher Holland.
Born at Salford in 1892 and educated at St. Bede's College, Manchester, and at Ushaw, he was ordained in 1917 and appointed assistant priest at St. Brigid's, Manchester, remaining thete for three years when he went in April, 1920, to St. Joseph's, Salford.
For fifteen years he remained in this parish and took a great interest in che merchant seamen who touched port at Manchester. He was prominently identified with the work of the Apostleship of the Sea in the area.
Solemn Requiem Mass at St.. Joseph's, Mossley, yesterday (Thursday) preceded the interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Moston.
