0.S.13.. a monk of Quarr Abbey, Isle of Wight. has died suddenly at the age of 75 at Santiago, Chile.
Dom Pedro left Quarr in 1938, after
16 years of monastic life there. to take part in the foundation of Las Condes, near Santiago.
He was well known as a talented painter, whose work can be seen in a number of English churches as well as his better known paintings of the Martyrdom of the Carthusians and the Life of St. Francis.
Marie Lady Hood
Marie Lady Hood, widow of Sir Joseph Hood. and mother of Sir Harold Hood, a Director of the Universe, died last week. Requiem Mass was offered on Tuesday at the Farm Street Jesuit Church, London. Among the mourners were Sir Harold and the Hon. Lady Hood, Mr. Alan Hood, Mr. Robin Hood and Senora Blanco-Fombona de Hood.
