Fire Service Guild Is Spreading

The Catholic Fire Service Guild, formed six months ago with the blessing of Cardinal Griffin, will hold its first annual meeting next Thursday in the K.S.C. Club, I.ondon, with the hopeful knowledge that the movement to spread the guild to other parts of England is already warming up.

Firemen in Birmingham, Cardiff and Bridgwater, Somerset, are hoping to start similar movements soon and it is expected that local guilds will before long be established in other parts of the country.

Started last July by Mr. J. Kerwin and Mr. J. Olden, the guild in London now has about 50 members, who have chosen St. Barbara as their patron. The Rev. George Davey is their chaplain and the guild has been holding meetings and discussions in his hall at St. Joseph's, Wembley.
