Salvador Dali, the surrealist Catholic Church and classic art special edition of Dante's Divine Comedy.

Officials of the Italian State Printing Press said last week that Dali has agreed to illustrate the great poem with scenes of Hell, Purgatory and Heaven. They added that Professor Luigi Pietrobono, the greatest Hying Dante scholar, will write the preface to the book which is to be published in 1951. The officials said that Dali had offers from publishers in other countries but that he deliberately chose the Italian State Press in Rome which guarantees absolutely to print a perfect edition of the great poem from every point of view.
