THE FRENCH subsidiary of the German car manufacturer Volkswagen has canceled an advertising campaign parodying the Last Supper after outrage from French bishops. Last Wednesday Volkswagen France pulled billboards in major cities in the country which showed Jesus at the Last Supper saying: "My friends, let us rejoice, for a new Golf is born."
