Cardinal praises seminary at Ushaw

CARDINAL Keith Patrick O'Brien celebrated the St Cuthbert's feast day Mass at Ushaw College, Durham, on March 20, which coincided with the launch of the college's 2007-08 prospectus, The Archbishop of St Andrews and Edinburgh commended the seminary for roving the familiar tenets of the Catholic faith without fear of reaching out into the unknown. He described Ushaw's contribution to the life of the Church as three great tributaries of the one river of faith: university education in theology and ministry, formation for ministry and ecumenical collaboration.

Hve years after Archbishop Pablo Puente blessed the newly refurbished St Bede's Wing at Ushaw, the college's courses for lay and ordained people working in chaplaincy and other areas of pastoral life are flourishing.
