Triple crown on statue

With May Sunday crowning ceremonies at the majority of churches in the Manchester area, interest was again focused on that at St. Mary's, Heaton Norris, Stockport, the "Church of the Roses."
The 1947 crown of golden tea-rose, on a statue of Our Lady, which attracted world wide publicity because the flowers did not fade, is still there. On top of it are the 1948 and 1949 crowns. On Sunday another statue of Our Lady was used for the crowning ceremony.
