Bishop recalls atomic bombs

ON THE 60th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki the president of the American bishops’ conference has condemned nuclear attacks, along with terrorism.

Last week Bishop William Skylstad wrote a letter to his Japanese equivalent Bishop Augustinus Jun-ichi Nomura. The two Japanese cities, he wrote, “are permanent reminders to the entire human family of the grave consequences of total war”.
