CARDIFF SCHOOLS Provisional Approval

Cardiff Education Committee has provisionally approved a revised scheme for the Catholic group under the schools reorganisation plan for the whole city.

The cost of the group is estimated at £39,700, plus the cost of the school and site at Crwys Road, which it is proposed to transfer from the Corporation to the Catholic managers for adaptation, at a cost of £9,800, as a senior school.

The original scheme provided for an expenditure of £56,665 on accommodation for 1,620 children in four new schools, three on new sites and one on an enlarged site.

A complete scheme for the whole of the city schools will be ready for consideration by the Council in September.
