A MEXICAN priest has been shot dead in his car in the border city of Tijuana. Fr Luis Velasques was found handcuffed in what police said appeared to be an organised crime killing.
Fr Velasques “was very open and loved by the people”, said Bishop Rafael Romo of Tijuana. “The Church has been wounded,” he said. Fr Velasques worked in an area known for its drug gangs.
