A FRENCH cardinal has said that Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution is “perfectly compatible” with the description in the Book of Genesis of the creation of man, if the Bible is read properly.
Cardinal Paul Poupard told a meeting in Rome that “fundamentalists want to give scientific meaning to words that have no scientific aim”.
