Church houses quake orphans

THE CATHOLIC Church in Pakistan is planning to house at least 1,000 children orphaned in last month’s earthquake at a Catholic hostel near Islamabad.

“We are planning to admit as many children as possible,” said Anila Gill, executive secretary of Caritas Pakistan.

Mrs Gill said more than 50,000 children have been either “orphaned or separated from their parents” by the disaster.
