The Crown of the Year

In this third book of the series, Jane Mossendew continues to explore the long association between gardening and prayer. Even a window box can evoke calm and provide an oasis for contemplation and healing, whilst in the garden, individual flowers, trees, herbs and shrubs are shown by their history, use or form, to nourish our spiritual lives.

The book has three sections from Easter to Pentecost; Ordinary Time (including Trinity Sunday, Corpus Christi, the Sacred Heart of Jesus); and Solemnities and Saints' Days, from St Catherine of Siena to St Alphonsus de'Liguori.

The crown of the year is not merely a seasonal reference. It is the crown of God's love, 'the crown of life itself'.
