Newman not spurned

From Mr C G Nottage SIR – I would like to correct Jane Roze (Letters, Oct 28), if I may. The Church of England may have no memorial of Cardinal Newman “hanging or standing” but he does have a place in the Lectionary on August 11 – admittedly shared with St Clare of Assisi – so he is remembered in the liturgy annually, and rightly so.

Yours faithfully, CHRISTOPHER NOTTAGE London NW5
