IT'S AMAZING how often serious subjects manage to throw up silly headlines. The Irish Press had a report about the All-Party Committee of Deputies and Senators set up to examine the problems of marriage breakdown, and explained how they were unable to begin their important work, because they have not yet been provided with staff. Bearing in mind the sad and acrimonious way in which some marriages do, in fact, break down, the headline was, to say the least of it, a little wry. Row halts study of marriage breakdown.
