Alison needs that special friendship

HAVE YOU heard of Alison House, in St John's Wood?

It is a short stay home, established in 1977, for mentally and physically handicapped children and young people. It is run jointly by the Catholic Handicapped Children's Fellowship of the Westminster Archdiocese, the Spastics Society, and the Westminster Society for Mentally Handicapped Children. The chairman of the Friends of Alison House, Mrs Sally Pitel, says the main work is helping parents to get that much needed occasional break for a few nights, or for a week or so, during which time they can get both a mental and physical rest to enable them to sustain and to renew that special love which exists between parents and such children.

The appeal is for £250,000 to purchase Alison House outright. It is a courageous decision, worthy of support, as the purchase seems so much more .preferable to paying out considerable sums in annual rents.

You can get further details from the Secretary, Appeal Office, 22, Churton Street, London SW1. Telephone 8344463.
