Pope promotes curial official

POPE BENEcacr xsa has named Mgr Michele Di Rupert° as secretary of the Congregations for Saints Causes and elevated him to archbishop. He had been the undersecretary of the congregation since 1993. The Vatican press office announced that Mgr Di Ruberto will replace Archbishop Edward Nowak, 67, who has been named the assessor of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem and canon of St Peter's Basilica.
